This is a Radio Controlled model of the deHavilland Turbo-Beaver, of which only 60 were built in about 1966. They were a turboprop version of the famed Beaver, used all over Canada as a bush plane, and by various armies, including the U.S. Army as a forward area transport.

This model is of my own design and construction and has a 10 ft in span, weighs 25 lbs, and is powered by a 3000 watt outrunner electric motor, a 120 amp ESC, and two 5 cell, 5200 mah Lithium Polymer Battery Packs from FMA Corp.

  • Thanks for the kind words about the model.

  • nice beaver! is that a unionville model? how do like the electric? If its the unionville i am building the same one. thanks for posting.

  • Thanks. No, it is a model I designed from scratch from photos. Yes, I like electric power - I have given away all my old glow equipment and fly electric from tiny up to the 3000 watt motor on the T-Beaver. I have some multi-engined models I have designed as well. Electric power makes that a dream.

  • WOW That's one Big electric! Looks Great and Flies great too.

    Nice work.

  • Thanks for the nice words. I love the plane, but it takes up a bay of my garage.
