Pranayama is a breathing exercise that helps to improve breathing pattern and combat with illnesses.

Bhastrika is a Sanskrit word which means bellows. In Bhastrika pranayama, the breathing pattern resembles the blowing of bellows.

Bhastrika pranayama is all about inhaling and exhaling completely so that your body gets maximum amount of oxygen.

  • Art of Living is not about money. As a broke college student I have learned that the reasons for the 'donation' are to 1) Be able to provide these classes to prisons, low income areas, etc. 2) Expand/pay for the Art of Living centers 3) For the person paying it helps ensure they will show up on time and 'get 110%' out of the program.... you pay for what you get.

Art of Living is a beautiful organization. With more experience we can all see this.

  • @Ravidassan Energetic shock to the nervous system?? Come on!! jajaja what you want is that people pay the course in order to learn these techniques. If you are so concern, ask a teacher of aol to upload a video with the complete explanation so that we all learn from that and, in this way, we avoid getting that "energetic shock to our nervous system".

  • Very much true..Art of Living is not for money..serious advice to other people : just attend the 6 day class to believe and understand the reality..

  • Those who are watching this video let me tell you it is not sudarshan kriya at all.It is only basic steps we perform before starting sudarshhan kriya. I would suggest learn kriya under proper guidance as it is very powerful kriya and need to be done under proper supervision.

  • Respond to this video.very informative:))..

  • @Ravidassan The reactions are not due to "energetic shock in your brain". It is about hiperventilation. At least with sudarshan kriya, that technique is not even safe.

  • No dear it is not that, its unfortunate you think like that. See in our bodies, everything reacts differently, these practices are such, that everyone's body/mind will respond differently, and under the supervision of a proper teacher, he/she will know how to control or handle situations a person may be in. Its not about the money, i have taught courses for free and for people who can't afford it. Do this at your own risk. These practices are very easy, but VERY powerful. JGD Lots of love
