Khomradeigor: You've missed the point. Political correctness has a chilling effect on debate. Some issues may not be discussed from any but the "PC" perspective in the very venues where free speech and divergence of opinions should be most revered . . . our colleges and universities. Ed Said was one of those who's philosophies led to this unfortunate state. For example, you should be free to espouse your communist views without fear of being punished or censured for your views.

Yeah i know what PC is and i too think it sucks. But i dont think you can blame this on Said more than you can claim that the Germans invented Anti-Semitism. PC is not a very solid force, if somebody tells you that you shouldnt say somethin because its not PC, just ignore him and continue.
