Lyrics:
Once in a beautiful garden not so long ago.
A boy met a girl and the girl fell in love with him so.
He'd pick the berries up high, she'd pick them below,
And together they'd watch the orange sun sink in the west.

After a while the garden leaves faded to brown,
The young woman spoke of a place that they might settle down,
Maybe a house, or a flat they could rent close to town,
And together they'd watch the blue moon cross over the stars.

The woman held fast to the man when the winds came to blow,
The closer she held him the colder his fingers would grow,
Together they watched for the red sun to sink in the snow,
But the clouds were too thick and the tired man needed his rest.

One day the sun came again and awakened the ground,
The garden birds sang and the man left to follow the sound,
Strip malls and unplanted corn fields were all that he found,
So he hitched his way home in wide racing river of cars.

The man bought a plow and some seeds for the woman to sow,
A drought came along and by fall they had nothing to show,
They looked to the sky for the answers that no one could know,
And together they knew the gray fields had taken their best.

The woman awoke to see the false sunrise at dawn,
A cold blanket woke her to tell her her lover had gone,
A short note and half of the money he'd made at the pawn,
She tore up the note and refused to have any more scars.

The man found a job driving farm supplies from place to place,
The woman found love and the smile soon returned to her face,
The sky cried it's sorry's and showered the summer with grace,
And the tangerine sun took its time on its way to the west.
