  • Might want to let the viewers know that some sort of weld-thru primer is needed on the backside of the patch panel along with the inner part of the fender. If not used the fender will look identical to the rot hole you repaired in half the time.

    Here's the math: Bare steel+water=rust

Time will make only accelerate the equation.

  • Not hating or anything but the guys at west coast customs never look as if their engineers etc.. Wheres the coveralls and gloves for welding?

  • You should clean properly underneath and add a special solution... it's going to get fucked up pretty soon... personally I think there arent any professional workers there...

  • Knivesdeal dots com's I'd better

  • i love westcoast custom

  • "..make sure to keep it cool. that way you don't have no sheet metal warpage." looks like body panel repair isn't the only thing he needs some education in..

  • @joecanukk i guess thats why at the end of the video he says, "now you guys know a little bit about rust repair." I noticed they left out a lot of steps too.

  • long live rust!

  • Yeah WTF no rear panel prep/seal!?! it was covered in shit! And the back of the patch had no treatment either. That looks way sub-standard... Insurance companies would be laughing at me if I did that

  • @backwaterdogs They made the patch onsite. When you buy replacement panels, they're whole panels i.e. the entire section with factory spot welds drilled out e.g. trunk floor, rear quarter panel (generally cut at the B/C pillar), front bar with radiator brackets, etc... They would've bought the entire guard for this video instead of the small patch if required. (may have been the case with a small repair being worth it if it's a difficult panel to source)
