Whether you are just starting out producing AT&T YellowPages.com videos for TurnHere, are switching to Sony Vegas for editing these, or have been having headaches "fine tuning" Vegas for the job, watching this video and using the settings shown could save you a lot of headaches and trial and error. Demonstration created using Sony Vegas 8.0 Pro, but should translate to other Vegas versions.
Most common problem I've seen causing that is failing to check the "Do not letterbox" option. It's right there in the first window that pops open when you select the "Render as..." function in Vegas. It's easy to get caught up with all the in-depth technical settings and miss that one. Let me know if that's your problem. Feel free to call me at (334) 444-6796 if you'd like help troubleshooting it.

There is a known bug in release 9.0b of Sony Vegas Pro 9 which causes the Custom Bit Rate setting you enter for rendering using Main Concept AVC/AAC not to be stored if you save a "custom" template. It appears you CAN enter custom settings and Vegas will utilize the settings, but if you save them as a template, the settings will have reverted back to default when you reload the template. It appears they may have fixed this known bug by the time version 9.0c was rolled out.
