So true about the red carpet not being rolled out for jazz musicians... it's so unfair and sad to see such amazing and TRUE talent in Roy Hargrove and other luminaries have to deal with the bullshit while talentless HACKS like Justin Bieber - who I really shouldn't even be using in the same sentence - have the so-called red carpet rolled out for them because of their popular "music". Shit's messed up.

I'm glad I saw this interview. Roy, looked tired in D'Angelo's Sao Paulo concert. It was a long show, for someone using all of their wind-power. Hell, D was tired, he had to be, but due to the way the music people have dogged him, I think he felt he had to "go full force" and his band mates did too. We all appreciated seeing them in Sao Paulo, it was an excellent show, and Roy has his gang rockin!! Helluva show; now WE want some, too! And, not just in the major cities. (smile y'all)
