Bill Davis, Snow plowing with a Midweight plow on a 1/2 ton ford truck, with custom added wings. the wings totally make this plow work and earn the money. The plow skin is plastic and I had a friend custom weld the extra supports for the wings. These wings have been on the plow for 3 years now.
My plow is 10'6" wide. If I were buying another plow, I would absolutly put wings on the new plow or buy a plow that has automactic wings. The boss and V plows are nice but I can do more work hands down.

  • I noticed the snowblower in the back, how did you secure it so that it doesn't move around and get damaged ( or damage itself)?

  • @ptjanis95 I just strap it in, really it has not been damaged in 8 years of use. so I guess it works, this is a great snow blower too. commercial grade by my standards.

  • Noticed an Avalanche in the video.. does that also have a Western Mid Weight plow on it? Trying to find what is best for my 1500 Av.

  • @ganodave2 , we recently put a brand new Blizzard snow plow on that truck, we traded the old one in. this is a 3/4 ton truck. we searched and found it.

  • Did you have any transmission problems after plowing in the winter?

  • @TheCellTherapy , No i just always engage the overdrive and take it easy, this is the 8th year for that plow. funny thing is I had to rebuild the transmission before the plow was ever a thought to put on this truck. ford transmissions suck so bad, cost me $4500.00 to rebuild new was $6800.00.

  • @Subct2 I guess if your still getting your hourly wage its not so bad to get out and stretch a bit.I dont look at it that way because all my jobs are flat rate so getting on to the next one quickly is all I think.Plus Im probaly a lot older than you and try to save myself more.

  • @jmac5058 . sorry you feel that way, we work mostly in the medical field and yes they pay $100.00 an hour to hand shovel a sidewalk, I don't mind gives me a break from the truck..

  • @CATZR600BRAAAAAP

i HAVE MEASURED IT. it is faster and better, we have a V plow too. for basic lots with curbs this is best. sorry you don't feel that way. we are changing all our plows to the blizzard plow now.

  • not a chance in thw world you're faster then a v. also, the plow isn't 10'6" it sticks out maybe 8" past the width of the truck on both sides. i have a heavy weight, 8' with the exact same wings and it adds 22"

  • Get rid of the jobs needing a snowblower or shovel,it dosent pay to ever get out of the truck.Unless its for coffee.

  • @ganodave2

look at our other video's yes the avalanche has a huge plow on it. this truck is a 3/4 ton 4x4, also the plow is a snow that goes upto 11'6" watch the video it is totally awesome. looks like a huge wave of snow.
