Families who had relatives buried at Burr Oak cemetery are now searching for their loved ones in the wake of a scandal to dig up graves and resell the plots. Cynthia Bowers reports from Alsip, Ill.
money does not make things right...dont always be quick to sue.....hard time for the crims yes.....sue and the city goes broke...peoples taxes go up...think about it.
This is so true. Plots do get dug up and resold if and only if, for example over 100 years and there is sign that no one has attended the grave site or signs of neglect. Now we know how the Native Americans feel when we dig them up their ancient burial grounds to make room for new development.
i always knew this but if you look at illinois alone thousands of people live here and hundreds are born every day and hundreds die everyday ,,,,,where do you think they go,,,,,where is the room ,,,,stacking on top,,,,,if a person has been dead for 100 yrs,,,,, or 50 they use that spot,,,the coffin is there but has sunk further into the ground when rain making room for another casket
people please ,,,are you really shocked,,,why,,,,,,,many grave sites are doing this ,,just haven,t been caught,,,for criss sakes use your heads,,,,,,,every grave site has all that open land,,,,,,why as when 1000,s die per day,,,,,this site just got caught ,,,,,,the others are stacking them on top ,,,,and doing the same thing
The Village of Alsip should be SUED!!!!!!!!!!! Many people made complaints to them about this cemetary, had they investigated when the complaints were made, this probably wouldn't have continued to happen.
Their souls are resting in peace because their souls have not been in the body since they died. They are resting still.

They need to regulate the funeral industry more stringently. This falls under "there oughta be a law..."
