if you don't know who Morten Veland is and/or what albums he was part of, you don't know shit about the TRUE Tristania, he wrote all the classic songs of Tristania

let's see if this band on stage under the name of Tristania can top the masterpiece that Morten Veland has written

Yes, I do like Nightwish, but I'm also fully aware that the lead vocalist is not the entire band. If anyone is the structure of that band, it is Tuomas Holopaine

The bald guy can't sing his part properly, and this woman sounds like a jazz singer who's waiting for someone among the audience to figure out she's not supposed to be singing in this band.

They could have at least had the common sense to form a new band, since this is DEFINITELY NOT Tristania.

I believe in some senses Mary is better than vibeke in some parts. Sure she shouldn't touch shining path and beyond the veil but songs like these sound better because her voice is so much richer and powerful in the right moments. Vibeke was a soubette suprano and had a very light airy and angelic voice but it was easily drowned out in instances, Mary is a dramatic mezzo who has her uses. Lets see Vibeke try and pull off protection, amnesia or sirens with the same strength and emotion.

@dungeonofdarkness who gives a shit if they still use the name Tristania -- Tristania has evolved. just because Morten wanted to go do things his way -- doesnt mean that these guys have to leave Tristania, its name, and its music behind. If you want Morten, go listen to Sirenia -- that is, done his way, written by him, (practically) performed by him, and leave those of us who like Tristania the way it is now alone.

Morten Veland is overrated. Tristania was at it's best after he left, while Vibeke was still in the band.

I think the female guitarist is more beautiful than the singer. I love this song and they performed it well. Tristania Forever.

Wacken's 2009 performance was not good at all.

Apart from this, the goth-looking and detailed kind of music they record on CD's are not the suitable ones to play on open-air and daylighted festivals like this.

I like almost all the albums (from Widow's Weeds to Rubicon), but not how they play live.
