@gondback There are lots of thinkpads. I'd check the model. Your friend would be foolish to sell a T420s for $600. I just bought one new for $1150.

Looking at this video I get the suspicion that you have not installed all the drivers especially the correct video drivers thus running at a low resolution which helps speed up boot times.

Hi. Do you need any other tools to install that SSD? I just heard that T420s is required 7mm thickness.

i own a T410 and yes indeed, the first 3 months was blazingly fast. after a hang, it took 5 -10 mintues to boot up =(
