  • How do you know which dice is the X axis and which dice is the Y axis if they are both the same?

  • Just roll them sequentially - and say the first one is for X, and the second for Y.

  • In playtest we found that the power of the knights changes with the position of the plinths on the board, so it's different in each game. So, in games where the plinths crowd the centre, Knights become very useful indeed and the game often begins with a 'cavalry skirmish' between opposing knights vie for the most important plinths. Knights on plinths also make very powerful defence pieces for the King, as they are difficult to shift.

  • Sounds like chess re-imagined as a miniatures game. It does seem that knights would be greatly under powered because of their short movement in relation to the larger board. Does the ability or jump onto the boxes really make up for that handicap?

  • i hav ethis game i play normal chessin tournements i have taken home lareg cups and i have to say i wish shuuro had tournements because it is very very fun

  • Have you seen Turanga (Shuuro expansion)?

  • well in chess playing stronger players and reviewing those games make you stronger and I like regular chess and my regulation chess board

  • ive been playing chess since i was 7 and i cant wait to buy this game. seems incredibly fun. another chess variant i enjoy a lot is Knightmare chess.

  • Oh, and yes, we could have saved ourselves some profit by putting only one dice in the game, but we do have a planned variant with Turanga that will require two dice!

  • Hi, yes, according to the rules, you roll first for the column (Y) and then for the row (X), but in reality it odes not really matter which one you roll first, as long as you are consistent, or at least as long as you tell your opponent.

  • nice review sounds interesting
