This thing is fast, I just borrowed me dads for a week, and me thinks he will recieve a speeding fine, the police had the "big blue" gun on me for a around 600 metres, before and after ... This car is like giving a commercial pilot a fighter-jet and tell him to go "slow" ... that just wouldnea happen .. Its faster than a 911 Turbo from 60 -110 ..... Ive handed it back before I get a driving ban ;-)
I had a Saab 9-5 HOT Aero (230bhp version) and miss the great turbo-acceleration between 40mph and about 110mph, which I'm sure was quicker than the car I traded it for (BMW 540i sport 6-speed manual, 4.4l engine, 286bhp). BMW better car (just) but Saab designed for real-world acceleration, and will keep up with just about anything to around 100mph. How often does anyone go above that sort of speed nowadays with all the speed-traps around? Handling a bit under-steery, but decent and safe.
proud saab owner! even tho they can be a pain in the ass sometimes. i got a 99 9-5 lpt. which is the non - aero, i love my saab i actually heard its more tuner friendly compared to the aero
i'm thinking of buying a saab 9-5 but find the line up really confusing. they have so many different 2.3 turbos, some producing about 185 hp and others about 250 (HOT aero???), i'm sure ill end up buying something wrong.
im after a HOT aero but i think some are 230hp and some 250hp... confusing.
Did you misunderstand me? My comment was not against Saabs in any way. All I said was that most people can't tell a stock Saab from a tuned one just by looking at it. And there are plenty of Saabs with 150 or less hp. I didn't say which Saab I meant, did I? Saab93V3ctor, the internet flamer -_-
