Good left hand technique is essential to playing guitar. Without it you may always be unable to play the things you aspire to. Poor technique can also in the long run damage the hands and cause physical problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome among others. In this lesson Mike Williams from www.ShredGuitarAcademy.com will show you the basics of good left hand positioning for maximum dexterity with minimum effort. Part 2 of 2.

  • If I try, as you said, to make the last joint of the finger drop directly on the string, it makes a pretty big tension in my wrist and hurts after a bit.Do you have any advices for that ?

  • @The3XpL0D It's difficult for me to diagnose technique issues without being able to see them. Warm up well. Don't overdo it. Don't play in pain. If it's starting to hurt take a break and come back to it later. If you keep having problems my advice would be to go to a teacher that can see what you are doing. Hope that helps. \m/

  • Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. This and part 1 were a god send. How much would you like me to donate?

  • @DisrespectYou Anything you can is appreciated. \m/

  • Would you recommend straying away from trying to learn advanced techniques when you're still learning the basics? Like trying to play something pretty advanced when you can barely hold together "simple man" lol

  • @okcthunder2010 Well I can't say that's what I did. I'd say go for it. Just be sure to pay close attention to the details and keep in mind that the more advanced the longer it may take to get down. So I think you have to willing to take it slow and be patient. Sometime progress is measured in months not days;) \m/

  • I'm having problem using my pinky while doing some fingering techniques because I'm basically using 3 of my other fingers which sometime makes it harder to play wider scale. Could u suggest any fingering exercise? or any technique to improve my fingering?

  • Your tutorials are amazing... I wish i could play guitar 1 day like u... My problem is that i have small fingers so i cant reach top string... :(

  • 3:22 I simply can't do that. Same with the thumb.. I see most classical fingerstyle guitar players bending their right-hand thumb like crazy all the time. Only broken knuckles would help I guess, lol!

  • Great lessons. Tecnique is just as important as a creative mind. thx

  • great teacher man...thanx God bless yah..\m/
