This megafon started its career in the Acadmy for Music in Mainz where it was part of a project called mini schoeffer turm. Nicolas Schoeffer made in the 60ties already great Sound Towers that brought the sound all over the city. This tower is a table device and has a "heartbeat" and next to that a couple of LDR that trigger the sirene in a random-like way. Want to try? go to the Museum für Kommunikation Frankfurt: 25. August 2011 bis 19. Februar 2012 and/or to the Museum für Kommunikation Berlin: 30. März 2012 bis 2. September 2012. Or just open up such a megaphone and try it out yourself.(i think that is the best part)
