Ali spoke with TOP-Ed writer John Fensterwald after the federal Equity and Excellence Commission's first Town Hall hearing, at City Hall in San Jose on April 21. She mentioned incentive grants to promote funding equity and possible future requirements for states and districts to receive Title I dollars. The Commission will issue recommendations in December.

  • The appropriate (and constitutional) role of the Federal Government in education is to get out of education entirely. The first step is dismantling the Department of Education that this witch works for. That's how we can best "leverage the federal dollars" she wants.
