US president Barack Obama's announcement to pull out US combat troops out of Iraq in 18 months has prompted many observers to wonder whether this is a pullout or a redeployment.

Iran blasted the intended slow pace and spurred Iraqi president Nouri al-Maliki to demand a faster US departure.

I agree we need to pull out of Iraq, and we need to stop being so friendly with some countries that have refused to help us (cough* France).

But we need to stay in Afghanistan as they were the ones who attacked us on Sept 11. Unforunately we may have to consider going into north Pakistan soon too if they can't deal with their Taliban problem there.

i believe that if we are always helping other countries and they are never helping us we should pull ourselves out of iraq and really yeah its good to help other countries but now we need help. And besides bush said we never finished our mission there lol we were just there for oil and we got it

I feel that all US military should leave Iraq, and every other country in which we have tried to liberate and have helped!! I feel all US bases should be shut down all over the World and bring our troops back to the US! Stop any and all aide to every Goddamned country in the world and let them fend for there fucking selves!!! Obama is a fool, technically the US never lost Vietnam. While we were there we were winning. It wasnt until two years after the US left Indochina that the Vietnam war was lost.

Obama is going to do the same in Iraq by pulling out to soon. If the US left iraq now. The terrorists will simply reform and topple the now alone Iraqi government. Thus meaning a defeat for the US.

Pulling out of Iraq was NOT supposed to be immediate!! ...at least Barack Obama NEVER made that promise!
