Update on 2012/02/29:
Guys (and Girls), this is a video that shows some basic things about my successfully unbrick on my old SGS. This shall not be used to encourage you to do the same - if you know what you are doing, do it. If not, please don't ask about help as I mostly can't assist you. You have to find out for yourself.
Most things I do on my phone or to my phone I had to find out the hard way - "trial and error".
So please, don't forget: I can't help you over the net.
Read the information that is on the internet, maybe starting on http://forum.xda-developers.com.

So I have bricked my brothers phone as I wanted to get around the drei.at 3buttonlock. I had to read the whole night on the net how to fix that. Took me quite a while but it worked out quite fine for me.

Now I have recovered two phones with this method.

What you need:
* a micro USB dongle/jig/plug fitting into your phones usb plug.
* 301kOhms resistor

And here's the how-to-do-stuff:

* Your phone aint starting, just this connection icon shows up - nothing more.
* Put the resistor (or more, just need to fit 301kOhm) between Pin 4 and 5 of the usb plug and connect to your phone WHEN ITS POWERED OFF.

Your phone immediately starts into download mode where you can flash the phone with Odin.

DONT DO THIS IF YOU HAVE NO IDEA ON HOW TO FLASH PHONES IN GENERAL!!

I've updated my archive of *collected* files on my public ftp, also reachable on web at http://ftp.dark-fellow.info/pub/android/galaxys/ - THE FILES ARE NOT MINE, I'VE COLLECTED THEM CAUSE LATER THEY WON'T BE AVAILABLE ON RAPIDSHARE OR MEGAUPLOAD AND SO ON...

Update on 2011/12/24:
If you are looking for the PDA file I used in the video, take a look at http://ftp.dark-fellow.info/pub/android/galaxys/other/3-button-fix/ ;-)

  • were did you get the resistors from and will this work on a hard bricked galaxy s2 that i accidently installed a rom for the galaxy s not mine? Thanks for the how to video bro well informative an has given me some hope thxs

  • @scouseok i have some resistors at home since few ages, bought them originally on conrad.com i think. You can also buy some pre-made usb-jigs on the internet, looks like this one from Amazon: tiny url . com / 7hrg72m - also I have no idea if this will work on a hard-bricked phone but probably not.

  • Excuse me.... My samsung just don't turn on... even the image you showed it does not appear. My inquery, is that if is possible to fix my SGS even is completly BLACK???

    Help me please.

    My email is aexelm@hotmail.com

    I'm frustated!

  • @aexelm I have no idea. Mate, you have to try it out. Maybe just change the battery?

  • Can you send me the download link that you used in the PDA ??? i cant find it at dark-fellow

  • @fux818 this depends on your rom what you are using at the moment, you cannot flash a newer Gingerbread version over your Froyo version or vice versa. You just flash the version, that fits you, the version you want to install later maybe. I used in the video Aries, to get 3-Button-Combo as it was locked on this one. I used

    ftp. dark-fellow .info/ pub/ android/galaxys/other/3-button-fix/Aries_P-SBL.tar.md5

  • 300kOhm is enough.

    I use 2 x 150kOhm resistors and it's working like a charm.

If U can find one 301kOhm resistor, that's fine. Solder only that, but if you don't have that 301 one, solder 2 x 150kOhm resistors. That will do the magic as well!

  • 330k ohm working thank you bro

  • @darkfellowinfo Thanks for your reply i did buy one of the net but i hasnt done anything don't know if it was due too my battery as fone hasnt been on for days and it did only have little power in it before it went on me though

  • @FDBarrY i have no idea, never tried cause i dont have a tab. if it is worth for you: trial and error ;)

  • @trusselo you smartass start reading the title again please. and if a connection to odin would have worked, i would have done it. go take you smart words and take them to school please, i'm not from yesterday.

  • what you are showing is NOT A HARD BRICK. it is what is known as a SOFT-brick.

and that soft brick screen..." PHONE /!\ PC " can be used as download mode 95% of the time. you just needed to reconnect to odin and flash again.
