  • There are four original members in this video.

  • Neftali I was inspired by your solo to become a musician at Randalls Island August 1973,Thanks for the inspiration brother T.

  • Yea dizyootum,

Wow! do I remember that gig well. The riot that happened and the bottle that almost hit me in the face, to the girls trying to pull chunks of my hair out while other girls where trying to take my scarf that was in a knot on my neck and they where choking me, to all my clothes being stolen. Wow! you where there. Well I was scared to death but if you dig my solo thanks. My question is how in the world could you hear it. The sound system was a joke. Hit me back.

  • Man, Neftali, you hit hard brother!

Do you guys still do Mango Meat live? That's my favorite Mandrill jam.

  • Dear lazarus0202,

Oh yes the band still performs Mango Meat.

  • WOO! The Funkadrill! Drill King. I remember filming this man. Good times you are still the Drill King

    GO NEF!

  • I was inspired to play drums because of Neftali although I played bass for Black Pearl, I had the pleasure to meet Mandrill because of my sisters friend Punky, after the show in piscataway at Rutgers. I went to see Larry Gram but came out a serious Mandrill fan. Still I think one of the best bands ever always locked in the pocket.

    Funk On

  • @Neftali; You are all that my man! The band had a sound that was never copied. Great drum work. My dance band back in the 70s did Fence Walk (and another song or two). Folks always wanted a re-play on Fence Walk. Mandrill was not on local radio stations (SoCal Inland Empire) and the LP was not widely circulated. Cheers

  • Was at this show in 2008 - was great to see Neftali sit in on this one, as he was such an integral part of Mandrill in their hayday. Not to mention how much this tune rocks!!

  • This is metal.

  • @agamemnon1

  • Love me some Mandrill!

Wish they could come to VA Beach!!

  • Neftali was a big part of their sound, he tore up that set
