Arrangement: Daisuke Minamizawa
Composer: Claude Achille Debussy

This arrangement comes from the renowned guitarist, Daisuke Minamizawa, in his book "Melodies of Solo Guitar vol.7: Classic". Check out his YouTube/website for more info!

The title translates to "The Girl With the Flaxen Hair". This is a song of subtle passion that is very adventurous --- much like Debussy's personal life. While originally written on the piano, the admirable sound of the piece suits the guitar very well (although some parts are a little difficult ^.^).

Drop-D Tuning DADGBE

*I know my 6th string is a little out of tune; so sorry!!

Thanks for listening, everyone! More is on the way

  • I love this song but please take this off YouTube as you ruined it trying to play it on the guitar I would say nice try but sorry it's not.

  • @MJFHawks I know I'm not a guitar-master by any means, but I'm sorry you feel the need to tell me that.

In any case, thanks for the view! ^.^

  • Is this a classical or acoustic guitar? Hard to tell

  • It is a classical - specifically, it is a Cordoba C5-CE. I am using D'Addario strings. Great question!

My next video will feature a song played by my Ovation acoustic, so subscribe if you like!!

    Thanks for watching, BHayley!

  • Once again, this is just too gorgeous for words. The most melodic classical guitar version i've seen someone play so far. I just love this.

  • well done...A tricky piece to try on C.Guitar..Think the amp. is up a bit high and brings out the slides...only way round this is to lift the fingers up and then put them in position for the next note or chord. With practice you should make it ok but I don't think I ever will .At one time I remember they had bass strings cotton covered to try and minimise the squeak effect of the slides...don't know if they still exist ...most likely not .Thanks for posting

  • @BCrav1024 Dont listen to him. True lovers of this song appreciate all versions. thanks for the close up view. I thought it was great, thanks

  • I like the recording. Next time when you play it, speed it up a little bit and add some more dynamics.

  • good vid. personally, i'm not too sure about the intro
