  • these horses are a symbol of all americans. they ARE the wild and free spirit that attracted so many people to america. We still have our freedom, let them keep theirs.

  • love the photos till the roundup

  • @beaelliott Thanks! I and my 12 y/o gelding hope she makes it to 50 too! She just might do it - she's a strong willed little nugget. ;o)

  • @MorganLver - Thanks for sharing your touching story... I hope she makes it to 50!

Bless you for living with kind values! :)

  • @beaelliott Hey, don't worry about it! ;o) I agree completely that there are SO many people who only think of horses in terms of what they can use them for, and I don't necessarily consider these people horse "lovers." I have two horses myself, and only one of them is rideable. My 19 y/o QH/pony mare that I've had since she was a yearling foundered when she was 4, and, having thin soles to begin with, I haven't considered her as rideable since. That's okay. Hope she makes 40! LOL!

  • My 2 friends and I just rescued 3 mustangs. It was either adoption or slaughter so we saved them. I think it's so sad that this is happening to them. I wish there was more that we could so

  • @MorganLver - Sorry... I thought you were meaning to say that we must "preserve" them in order to "use" them. There are so many people out there who only justify an animal's existence with their "purpose" to man. Many apologies. I know we are on the same side... With that of the horses's well being. ~peace~

  • @beaelliott What are you talking about? Past tense where? I need the horses NOW - spiritually. It causes me great pain to know they are gone off their ranges.

I never said OR implied that YOU wanted the horses to go anywhere. I was AGREEING with you, for heaven's sake! And also wondering how so many of our fellow Americans can seemingly shrug off this tragedy.

Maybe you should read posts more thoroughly before you go flying off the handle, huh?

  • @MorganLver I'm glad you used the PAST tense... We do not "need" these horses NOW. I am not in favor of making all the wild horses go anywhere! Where do you get that idea? I'm all for letting them have the land that was promised to be protected FOR them --- NOT for COWS! I'd like these "round ups" made ILLEGAL because it is "Us"!
