Jardin Secret: Secret Garden

In moments of reflection-

There is a secret, special place I go to
where peacefulness prevails
where tranquility and dream-like hopes set sail

A place where flowers always bloom
and shining always is the promising sun

This private place of mine...
the piano music of my... SECRET GARDEN...

For where lies YOUR secret garden of hidden hopes and dreams?....

  • great job ! your skill is awesome . I wonder if you used the middle pedal of your piano or not :d

  • Thank-you for the nice comment quanganhct. The right damper pedal is used most frequently, and achieves the legato phrasing when all strings are struck. The left soft or "una corda' pedal does not strike as many strings, so achieves a "softer", quieter effect. The middle "sostenuto" pedal sustaines one particular note.--For the pieces I play, I mainly use the damper, or the soft pedal-depending on the dynamics, phrasing, and expression I want to emote. Hope that helps.

  • at the instant 0:51, your left hand's play is not clear, may be that's your piano 's fault. At that moment, i feel like my think was cut.

anyway, the more i hear it, the more i feel like i was walking in the garden, hearing the wind, relax on a bench ...

  • quanganhct, at 0:51 was the climatic beginning of that phrase. I purposely emphasized the pianissimo of the left hand so as to juxtapose the crescendo of the right hand. The purpose of this was to bring out the melody or "voice" of that particular phrase, which asks to be played "amabile" or "sweetly". Perhaps a bit louder would have been more to your liking though. --Glad the song is creating a relaxing mood for you. Thanks for listening.
