"Well, it's actually a song I co-wrote with one of my good friends."
"Mr. Scott, it could be a song that you just made up on the spot, we just want to hear you sing."
"Okay," I said, trying to calm my nerves. I turned to the chair next to me and popped his CD into the player. The music started to flow, and it relaxed me.
Drew- "Oh..Yeah....
Admit it, we're finished

Like a night mare, I lived it
It was too big to ignore (Ooh)
I hear the sirens but they pass me by.
My hazard lights are flashing, somebody, anyone
HELP cause its an emergency.
Someone just wounded my heart.
So HELP, its like a bad surgery and now its time to recharge.

"Stop!" the judge said, and I turned the CD off.
"How did I do?" I asked, panting.
"We're not allowed to reveal that now, Mr. Scott. Now, what have you prepared for your dance portion?" the judge asked.
"Well, actually, I have someone next in line, my best friend, who wanted to do our dancing audition together. You know, to show how well we can dance together. In a group."
The judge sighed, and I took that as a bad sign. But he surprised me saying, "Very well. Please exit and wait outside the doorway while your friend does his singing audition, then you two can perform the dancing portion. But I'm warning you," he said, point his pen at me, "Tell him what went on in here, and you can kiss your chances goodbye."
"I promise," I gulped, and rushed towards the door to grab Jayk. I burst through the doorway and tried to appear calm.
"DREW! So how was it?" he asked me.
I shook my head and told him that I couldn't tell him. I told him to go in and do his sining portion, and then to come and get me afterward so we could do our dancing portion together. I wished him good luck, and he walked into the room.
[Jayk's POV]
As I walked into the room, I thought about how nervous Drew was when he had come out, even though he tried to hide it. I knew. I tried not to let that make me nervous, but it was pretty hard. The head judge handed me a clipboard and I filled out the information quickly. I handed it back to him and walked over to the microphone.
"Mr. Purdy? Of Las Vegas? I assume you are Mr. Scott's friend?" he asked.
"Yes sir," I said.
He put down the clipboard and looked back at me. "And what have you prepared for us today?"
"A song that was just written by one of my good friends," I said, putting my CD into the player.
"I see," the judge said. "That's exactly what Mr. Scott said. You don't, by chance, have the same song he does?"
"I don't think so, sir," I said, turning on the music.
Jayk- "The days I cant see your eyes,
I don't even want to open mine.

"Stop!" the director yelled, writing on his clipboard. "Please go and grab your friend so we can complete the dance portion of both your auditions."
I raced over to the door to grab Drew. "How'd you do?" he asked as he followed me back into the room.
I shook my head. "They didn't tell me." We walked over to the microphone and chair, and moved those across the room so we had plenty of room to dance.
"And what song will you be dancing to?" the judge asked as I exchaged the CD's in the player.
"It's Gonna Be Me," Drew said, jumping up and down to warm up. I shook my arms and legs as I walked back towards him as we stood, ready to dance.
We heard *NSYNC sing, "It's Gonna Be Me," before the chorus part came on. "Every little thing I do, never seems enough for you. You don't wanna lose it again, but I'm not like them. Baby when you finally, get to love somebody, guess what? It's gonna be me!"
The music faded as we held our positions. I wanted to smile and jump for joy. I knew we had performed our dance perfectly, and I knew that our singing would only be superior to our dancing.
"Okay," the judge said, writing on his clipboard. "Thank you very much. If you want to stick around, we should be posting the final list of 5 by 3 o'clock. Auditions are only until 1. Otherwise, well call you tomorrow if you made it."
