http://www.ted.com In this uplifting talk, Katherine Fulton sketches the new future of philanthropy -- one where collaboration and innovation allow regular people to do big things, even when money is scarce. Giving five practical examples of crowd-driven philanthropy, she calls for a new generation of citizen leaders.

TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes. Featured speakers have included Al Gore on climate change, Philippe Starck on design, Jill Bolte Taylor on observing her own stroke, Nicholas Negroponte on One Laptop per Child, Jane Goodall on chimpanzees, Bill Gates on malaria and mosquitoes, Pattie Maes on the "Sixth Sense" wearable tech, and "Lost" producer JJ Abrams on the allure of mystery. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design, and TEDTalks cover these topics as well as science, business, development and the arts. Closed captions and translated subtitles in a variety of languages are now available on TED.com, at http://www.ted.com/translate. • @branboom I think the same thing about many great videos with inspirational content... its often the frivolous and trivial that goes viral and gains a great audience... the great tragedy of our times, and a reflection of the current state of the human condition, towards its lower end of aspiration, and most base desires and ambition.

  • @branboom

Imagine the future where only half of the viewers would share something that they liked.. (You are the future of philanthropy ) share it.. and share it..

on fb. profile... on.. and on..

  • xD.

  • Oh, and by the way, as you meant to get personal: I'm an actor, musician and writer, so (if I've any talent at all) I'd say deep emotions are pretty much around me all the time.

Thumbs down for your comment. = P

  • I guess I've no problems with deep emotions, but I may be wrong, who knows.

Anyway, as I said before, there are many TED talks about much more important topics. These other talkers are also much more passionate - without crying.

When comparing philantropy with the ultimate effects of global climate disruption, I must say this woman is crying for petty bussiness. Philantropy is an important matter nonetheless, but is not as far reaching as the death of millions.

  • I don't know about that other philanthropy

  • Oh when its cumming its all good
