"Country music and Celtic music are the exact same thing, we just have different whisky."
SO FULL OF WIN. I've seen her play many times live, and it's always a treat.

Ahh this takes me back. The only thing missing is the sound of the espresso machine at St Mike's not quite covering up the best parts. Thank you for posting.

oh, the reply worked just fine; youtube just doesn't know how to thread replies beyond one level deep. which, yes, makes its "threading" nearly pointless...

This was supposed to be a reply to lynxcat73's comment.
Gads, You Tube is really mixing these things up.

You seem to have found more about him since than I have. I can only imagine how hard this all was on him.
I just wish him well and hope he knows that his contributions to so many of my favorite songs is known and appreciated.

Phil seems not to have spoken on the Heather/Alec subject since they divorced, AFAIK anyway, so it's probably something best left un-asked about. from what little google can tell, he seems to have moved to Alaska and started a graphical arts / web design studio.

Unfortunately, that was what we were talking about.. Heather retired to the land of fey in 2006 and has named Alexander James Adams as heir to her music and affairs.
I truly wish we could see her at Faire..

If you think she's good here you should see her at Ren Faire. ^ ^ <3
She's great! X3 <3

Yes I know who Philip is, so I really can't wait to hear it.. If you have the "Everafter" CD, I think "By Being Close" is also a farewell to him.
I wish there was some way of knowing how he is doing with all this. It seems sad that he just seems to have left the scene. His last credit is on Merlin's Descendants.
I can't wait to see the rest of your footage.. Alec is wonderful, I love his work, I can't wait to see him live, but he just isn't Heather, and rightly so..
Thank you for posting this.. it is the only Heather live video in the net.
I love Alec, but I do miss her so.
His "He of the She" is an answer to this song and explains much.

Hai, He of the Sidhe is one of my favorites Alec does - that, and Farewell, Farewell.
I've been saying for 2 years now that I was going to post the rest of this video.
I promise I'll get it up by this weekend. :) It's all ON the Pc, I just have to break it all up now :)

Ohh!! that would be fantastic..
I haven't heard Farewell, farewell yet. But he has gotten such a wonderful voice.
My hubby did stills of her at Conifur a few years back.. and then lost the CD he made of it somewhere. I am hoping to post them if we ever find them.

It's amazing ... In short, it's Alec's Farewell to Phil (if you know who that is).
I'm going to find out if it's okay to post some of the songs in video format - they're worth sitting through - and if you can pick up the CD, I *HIGHLY* recommend it. Not a single disappointment - or even "eh, it's okay" on it. :)

I saw her perform at a couple of Ren Fairs here in Vegas, last year she wasn't there and I was told she had retired from preforming? I hope this isn't true as she is one of a kind.

This is both true, and untrue. Heather Alexander has retired from performing. The mantle of Heir of the Heatherlands has been picked up by Alexander "Alec" James Adams. He was at Vegas faire last year, and will return this year (2008). I think you'll find he's jsut as good as she was. :)
