Raising baby chickens. A quick guide to keeping and raising chicks. This video shows the basic requirements of chicks for their first 5-8 weeks (by which time they should get their full feathers). They will grow quite quickly (and so will the size of their brooder). Once they have their full feathers they will be able to move into their chicken coop. • do u know what breed of egg laying chicken is the least loud or not very loud?

  • I don't know which breed is the quietest, but generally the bantam (smaller size) breeds are quieter than the full-size breeds.

  • so what do you do when the chicks grow up?

  • There is lots of info about caring for your chickens at keepingchickensnewsletter com

  • Yeah they poop a lot. I always get a newspaper when ever I take them out and lay let them run around inside.

Also, another IMPORTANT NOTE. Do not let your chicks out without supervision especially in the outdoors. It is often good to let them play around outside BUT be warned of CATS! They can eat them!

All my baby chicks went missing because of the stray cats around my neighbourhood! T_T

  • Chicks are HOOOOOOOOT!

  • I can't wait to get chicks! =)

  • @bunniboo1414 Ameraucanas are usually more of a blue. An 'Easter-egger' may lay a green egg.

  • chicks are fun to raise =) i got 3 like 7-8 months ago now they are big :D

  • lolz at 1:04 the chicks like: "WTF is that?!"

  • here is another tip for first time chick buyers. DO NOT buy chicks from tractor supply, because many people come in and touch the chicks and can spread nasty diseases to them. buy them from a hatchery.
