the clicker is for the dog.. when the dog follows a command, you press the clicker, and it signals that they did a good job or a that a treat is coming..

do you think this will work with my son, he's two years old. and if a dog can do it, i think humans can too right? has anyone here ever clicker trained their son??

Congratulations! That's pretty impressive for an 8-week old pup. Labs are intelligent dogs, but even so.....
