Contact your Senators at 1-800-998-0180. Contact the White House as well http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/. Tell them "NO on the Fast Track Commission!" On the week of January 24th, they will vote on this special Fast-Track Commission, which some in Washington say is needed to fix our budget deficit. Don't believe it. They really want to cut Social Security. STOP the Fast-Track Commission. Go to www.SocialSecurityMatters.org.

  • I feel sorry for american SS recipients. Those billionaires on wall street should be so fucking ashamed of themselves.. In Denmark, we have a government who takes care of weak people who are unable to work. They get around 1800 $ a month, financed by tax payrolls. The more you earn, the more you have to pay - I wish people like Paris Hilton lived in Denmark, so they could see how its like to pay 70% of their income in tax, they would still be wealthy, and you can live without a Lamborghini

  • The undemocratic part refers to the fact that the commission is "fast-tracked" with no accountability the people. People should have more than just SS to retire, but the fact remains that many people (older women) don't earn enough to save much, and they also may have recently lost much of their nest egg in the economic downturn. Social Security may be all they have at this point - and they earned it. Let's not forget that SS was originally intended to keep older adults out of poverty.

  • This is horrible. The name calling was a true fallacy. Undemocratic? Apparently someone does not understand what democracy is. Savings accounts have nothing to do with Social Security. SS was intended to be a small helper, not intended to be able to live off of. The only thing I can say good about this video is that at least it provided a solution.

  • Grim, serious and funny!
