The absolute best of the best. Without a doubt the greatest doom band to ever grace the genre. A masterpiece to say the least.

Lyrics:

Out of reach in realms beyond
All light and truth the hidden son
From bloodied womb father creation
Narcissus high among the suns

Under inanimate lakes of carrion pallor
Where the weight of purity bore him down
Enthroned on thorns of brimstone fury
The thief of always anoints his brow

Legion guide us, calvary calls
Entwined in threads of earthbound lust
The blood of Hubris rising (fearful)
Cast him down, nay cast him out

Beneath sombre forest funeral halflight
And moonsoaked spires of mighty oak
Titans march to summers death throes
Valour gilded hearts to overthrow
(The Sleeping Tyrant)

  • The lyrics are arcane and very intricate, pretty damn awesome to look into.

The last track is 15 minutes long, which is too long by youtube standards. I'll try and upload in two parts eventually.

  • great song

  • this is the band of amy lee's sister right????....

  • Hrm. In this album they sound more Power Metal and Blind Guardian-ish than in Lamentations

  • All Hail Solstice!!!!!

  • Legion guide us, cavalry calls! An excellent song from, in my personal opinion, their best album. I may or may not be influenced by the Lovecraftian lyrics all through it, and the direct quote from Call of Cthulhu at the start of this song...

Beautiful piece of metal with excellent lyrics and some of the greatest clean vocals of all time. He ranks as my third favourite vocalist of all time, behind only Hansi Kursch of Blind Guardian fame, and of course, Dio.

  • great vocals

  • I think this band is a great band so far. This song is no exception; it is greatness. I wonder when they'll have another release out; it doesn't even have to be a full-length, I just would like to see a release from this band sometime. If not, then I can just listen to what they have offered in the past and enjoy it. No pressure. As I said before, Solstice have supplied awesome music.

  • Just caught this band from looking randomly, and while these lyrics are puzzling, I think I'm going to like Solstice a lot. I just wish there was somewhere to get the last track...or is that scheduled to upload as well?
