Shown here is a model of an aircraft that could have been used to save people from the burning Twin Towers on 9/11. The aircraft is a tilt rotor aircraft, with a main body at a large distance from the main rotor. The body acts like a keel on a yacht. With
the keel effect the centre of gravity on the aircraft is not an issue, unlike conventional helicopters.
Some have commented that the aircraft would flip over with the side extension that is shown, especially as people jumped into the rescue platform. An aircraft that could function in the manner shown here would ideally have a carrying capacity similar to that of a heavy transport helicopter, such as the Sikorsky
CH-53E Super Stallion, the Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane, the Mil Mi-17, the Boeing
CH-47 Chinook, the Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk, or even the McDonald Douglas
AH-64 Apache attack helicopter. The Sikorsky CH-53E weighs 15 tons when empty and can carry a load of 16 tons, making a total weight of 31 tons. The Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane weighs 9 tons when empty and can carry a load of 10 tons, making a total weight of 19 tons. The Mil Mi-17 has a mximum take-off weight of 13 tons while carrying a load of 4 tons. The Mil Mi-17 can carry 37 troops. The Boeing CH-47 weighs 10 tons when empty and can carry 12 tons, making total weight of 22 tons. The Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk weighs 5 tons when empty and can carry a load of 4 tons, making a totalweight of 9 tons. The McDonald Douglas AH-64 Apache weighs 5 tons when empty, and can carry a load of 4 tons, making a total of 9 tons.
Most of the weight of a helicopter is in the main body of the helicopter. The jet engines on modern helicopters weigh less than 500 lb each. So on a helcopter with 2 jet engines, the engines weigh around half a ton in total. The concept aircraft shown here has a rotor that can be tilted left to right, right to left, forward to rear and rear to forward. With the rescue platform extended, as weight is added to the rescue platform, the main body of the aircraft may tilt somewhat, but the main rotor can then be tilted in the opposite direction, thus keeping the rotor blades level and horizontal. The main rotor is kept at a large distance from the main body of the aircraft so as to reduce the degree of tilt of the main body that would otherwise occur if the main rotor was close to the main mody of the aircraft (hence why conventional helicopters would not be suitable for this task, as they would be prone to flipping over). The greater the distance between the main rotor and the main body, the less tilting of the main body occurs for a given weight in the rescue platform. A point of equilibrium exists between the rescue platform and the main body of the aircraft during take-off. As weight is added to the rescue platform, the point of equilibrium between the rescue platform and the main body moves away from the main body of the aircraft. However, with the aircraft having a heavy main body, the equilibrium point would remain close to the main body of the aircraft. This can be compared to the action of a seesaw. A heavy person can sit close to the pivot point on a seesaw and prevent the seesaw from moving while a low weight person is sitting at the end of the opposite side of the seesaw.
A similar concept is used on construction cranes. One long extension is used for lifting materials, and is counter balanced by a heavy weight on the other side of the operator cabin.

Had this aircraft been available on September 11, 2001,
hundreds of people could have been saved, and possibly thousands, including 343 fire fighters who tried to reach people on the upper floors of the Twin Towers.
Of all the helicopters flying around New York on September 11, 2001, none went to rescue people from the upper floors of the burning buildings.
People in conventional helicopters could only watch. In 1969 man landed on the moon. More than 3 decades later people were not being saved from burning buildings central New York.
The concept shown here did not require string theory, anti-matter particles, quantum physics, E=mc2, Einstein's theory of relativity, or synchrotrons.
-
Some seem to think that this concept is not feasible, on the basis that the aircraft may be dormant for long periods between disasters. Yet many firestations have been built in New York, and the firestations are equipped with many large expensive fire fighting trucks. The trucks remain dormant most of the time. If no fires occur, the trucks remain parked in firestations.
The aircraft shown here is an emergency
rescue aircraft and as such would not be used as frequently as a commuter helicopter - just as water bombing aircraft that are used to help extinguish fires in forests and the wilderness. Water bombing aircraft are kept on standby in summer months so that they can readily used at short notice.

  • No rescue mechanism could protect the American public from it's governments agenda to kill its own people. Get real and wake up to the facts.
