Umm, your example of BAD/SINFUL bands and musicians are all Metal Bands.But please understand that your choice of example are EXTREME BLACK METAL band,thus its their NATURE TOBE OFFENSIVE.They are many Christian Metal bands,just because some of the metal bands are offensive,doesnt all Metal genre are bad or evil or whatever you call it.

I am Christian.And I am also a Metalhead.

What's wrong with having an Idol in the form of a good christian musician like Michael W. Smith?

Perhaps you would prefer people idolize artists like:

...but a scant handful of the bands most people idolize, including myself if not for the saving heavenly grace of God-gifted artists like Michael W Smith et al.

The masses will obsess over somebody, why not W Smith, for the few who know his music?

i'm a big fan of david meece. i know it's a bold statement, but it would be a close one between michael and david. a 51/49% deal. there are both great! i've seen them both twice each. for me david is slightly better b/c of his story. it paraelles mine.

David meece is amazing too, love the album with the song "when I was 17"... I have to admit though, I don't have as much knowledge about his music. I only know about 2 cds worth. I think MWS is one of the best musicians and an amazing pianist, so Meece being better lol wow that's a pretty bold statement. Have to listen to.more Meece then. :)

Wonderful wonderful song... Just hits all the right spots. Lyrically, musically, spiritually. I think his music is so uplifting... life changing. Like a musical ballad to echo our daily walk as Christians. The sorrows, loves, fears, dreams, hopes, prayers, friendships, and faith we experience. Michael is a virtuoso
