usually i hate it if it comes in a form of an Aid, such as a hearing aid.

But this could actually be a nice invention. It'd be better to have it implemented inside of the eye

The only way I'd wear a camera for seeing (if I were blind), is if I had Geordi La Forge's head gear.

The major issue with this now is, what if it's not damaged at the retina, but damaged along the optical nerve? or at the site of the brain where vision is "processed?"

and once they have finished this project it will alredy be outdated

I take it that the neurons in the eye are not affected by this disease. If they are, this approach won't work. The eye is more than a biological camera; its an image processor as well.
