Geesh that's what I called my trip back from Fort Madison,Iowa on the SWC #4. It was 7 HOURS late arriving because a suspicous package was found in the shower and they had to evacuate the whole train in Dodge City, Kansas where it sat for 6 HOURS!!! The crew handled things very well after I got on but that was a mess but geesh the Calfiornia Zephyr was worse in this video!! I don't blame you for calling it "The Train From Hell"

@sethamtrak Most of the time, it's NOT the're fault! They do a great job with a cut-back downsized rail system we have today.

i was on that train and it was hell we hit a truck also got stuck in snow drifts oh and our dinning car was broke not a fun trip we were 24 hrs late arriving in Chicago

I personally never had anything against Amtrak. I'd rather ride Amtrak then deal with Airport restrictions,traffic etc. I presumed it was aweful from what the media had mentioned.

@BNSF7776 Remember who advertises on the tv stations! Car and airline companys. These stations are very anti rail. There's also lot of oil money invested in the news services from the middle east. Amtrak pax were warm, fed, and safe unlike the 27 car crash on the interstate #35 or the people in the airport for 3 days!!! In Des Moines! I'm sure other cities too! It was a bad storm. The BN-UP do not have the equipment or people to keep the line open anymore. Not Amtrak's fault.

Nice Video, I never heard about this being on N B C News. It does make the 6 Hours & 15 Minutes I came in late on This same Train on 5/4/90 seem [ While I was coming back from Denver & New Mexico from a RailFanning Trip, there to Abo Canyon & Southern Colorado ]. like being on time. That is a very long time on there. Good Video Bob.

Dont know about P42. But last week had a P32. Hoped to get one on this, but no such luck.
