This is the somewhat infamous 1979 radio production of The Lord of the Rings, adapted by Bernard Mayes. It was produced by The Mind's Eye for the National Public Radio in the United States. This production had particular issues with the pronunciations of some of the names, such as "Sauron" and "Saruman", but that said, it does have its positive and negative points.
