Suspected kidney scam mastermind held in Nepal - 08 Feb 08

It's being described as one of the largest organ transplant rackets ever uncovered and brings to an end an international manhunt.

An Indian doctor accused of duping and sometimes forcing hundreds of Indians to give up their kidneys, has been arrested in Nepal.

Doctor Amit Kumar is alleged to have sold more than 500 organs over 9 years to wealthy clients.

The case has highlighted the dark underside of India's growing popularity as a destination for medical tourists.
