Phil Norris plays "La Virgen de la Macarena" with Long Beach Junior Concert Band

This is my first time attempting to upload video,heh. This is my attempt at "La Virgen de la Macarena" for the Marvin Marker Memorial concert on 6/10/10. This is in support for the Long Beach Junior Concert Band of which I'm an alumnus. My goal was to help the kids with their membership and also playing wise to try to get as close as possible to Mendez' original recording. Of course, I'm a "jazz" player trying to do this, and this is much harder than playing a jazz solo, LOL. If you're in SoCal and you have band kids, this is a great avenue for their playing education and I highly reccomend bringing them here. Check their website at lbjcb.org. They are a 501c3 non-profit group established in 1952.
