Those are cichlids are from Central America (Guatemala, Mexico). Those guys are huge. I think almost fully grown.

In this video you can see a tank of a Fishkeeping fair near my hometown (in Duisburg) called "12. Zierfische & Aquarium 2009 und 1. Internationalen Cichliden Tage".

We have a video of many tanks of this fair.
2nd of October 2009 (02.10.2009)
+++
It's a 200 x 60 x 60 cm tank with 720 liters (6.5 x 2 x 2 feet with 190 us gallon) .
+++
The population of this tank:

- Southern checkmark cichlid / Godmans Buntbarsch (Chuco godmanni or godmani)
- Red head monk, Red Spotted Cichlid or Red Speck Cichlid / k.A. (Vieja bifasciatum or bifasciata)

more coming soon...

(If you are intrested in helping me classifying the other species in this tank, post your suggestions)

  • Looks like 2 bifasciatus cichlids and 4 chocolate cichlids.

  • @MASSIECJR

    Yes there are "Vieja bifasciatum" in there. But the other ones aren't Choclate cichlids, they are "Southern checkmark cichlid" (Chuco godmanni).

  • I have 3 of these fish but are still pretty small (about 3-4 inches long) how long does it take them to get this size?

    Thanks

  • @MasterCheskeW:

    Oh sorry i cannot tell you that. But you can try to ask ichtussie (the user seven comments below). He also keeps some "Vieja"-species.
