Yes, I am familiar with discrepancies, but I don't know that I would through the NIV out completely. I actually use several versions (4) in my studies, but I tend to prefer the clarity of the NIV and or the New American Standard. Regardless of what tool I use, I try to consciously rely on the Holy Spirit to help with my understanding and interpretation. Instead of leaning on my own understanding, I prefer to trust Him.

Satan has had 6000 years experience in misleading and providing counterfiets for Christ and his holy word. The biggest deception he has today is mixing truth with error. In regards to tougues we must prayerfully ask God to give us understanding and a clear mind before reading; instead of just reading to prove someone else wrong or picking out parables that suit what you currently practice. I would suggest reading 1 Corinthians Chapters 13, 14 & 15. God Bless!

@monezariane80 Friend: Do you mean 1Corinthians 12, 13 and 14? If so, you have demonstrated that you, like all of us are capable of making a human mistake. That said, perhaps you should take a fresh look a the word, to see if you made another mistake. If you care to discuss your questions or concerns in a respectful manner, I am all for that. That is how we demonstrate love and grow in Christ, but if you just want to engage in an unproductive debate, I decline.

@ALove4Unity well in revelation 22 it says what ever is added or taken away the curses of the bible will be added unto you. now if you trusted in the Holy spirit then you would listen to him,so if your being cursed right now with lets say hardness of heart would you be able to decipher when He says what ever is added or taken away from the bible will be cursed. Its a cursed bible we know that by reading the word, i personally dont want to trust a cursed bible
