SAND SERPENTS
A United States infantry squad enters a potential Afghanistan hot spot, and discovers a fearless new enemy—unearthed a thousand feet below ground
The mission is simple: dispatch a small U.S. infantry squad to the remote deserts of Afghanistan and assess the viability of a supposedly abandoned mine. Among the squad are Lieutenant Stanley (Jason Gedrick, "Desperate Housewives"), Sergeant Wilson (Chris Jarman, "Spartacus"), Privates Kaminski (Sebastian Knapp, "28 Days Later") and Captain Jen Henle (Tamara Hope, "ReGenesis"), a beauty with a killer edge. Its the last mission for all of them before returning to the States. At the mouth of the mine, dead silence. Yet they cant shake the feeling that something isnt right. They should have listened to their instincts. Surrounded by Taliban soldiers, a flurry of gunfire and explosions erupts. Then the ground shakes, the earth shatters, and the mine is cleaved.
Out of the black hole comes a deafening roar, followed by the slithering reach of giant sand serpents, six stories tall, crashing through the ground, dragging the insurgents to their deaths, knocking Blackhawks out of the sky, and laying waste to the camp. The only prayer for the squads survivors is Afghani refugee Amal Jazeer. Amal knows the only safe way back to civilization is through the desert underground—in tunnels as serpentine, as unpredictable, and as dangerous as the sand serpents themselves. Now, theyre preparing to fight a new war—and once down under, theres no way out, no retreat, and no mercy.
A prehistoric can of worms is opened—and set loose—in "Sand Serpents," a hair-raising new breed of war movie.
