Something like "the caliphate" doesnt exist. Before Salah Adin, there was a caliphate with capital in Bagdad, another in Damaskus, another in Corduba, Tripoli and Tunis. European colonialism is not an empire. You forgot: Timurids, Mamluks, Poland, Sweden, Holy roman empire, Austria, Russia, USA, France, Germany, Spain, GB, Mandschu, Ming, etc
