Wow, first song i hear by this band and my jaw already dropped, they're freaking amazing, it feels like one of those songs you feel like listening to forever and ever until the end of time.

One of their best tracks if you ask me, i really love the folk-themed lyrics that this song, especially, has.

a moat is a body of water around a castle for means of protection, normally they also have a draw bridge

Technically, a moat is a large ditch around a fortification. It was stereotypically filled with water, maybe with vicious animals thrown in to dissuade swimmers, but others were just pits, or steep pits filled with spikes or the like.
