Quick video showing how to turn off LEDs and GPS for a EVDO USB device (such as the Sprint 597)). Such strategies help increase run-time by reducing battery drainage when operating battery-powered mobile wi-fi routers (like the Cradlepoint PHS300).

This also aids the Cradlepoint CTR350, which CAN be operated using alkaline or NiMH user-replaceable batteries inserted in AA battery pack (like the smaller Tekkeon MP1550, which is not officially supported for the job by Tekkeon) .
