Upon the departure of the Silver Meteor to Miami, the Arrival Board at 30th Street Station flips its letters and numbers to display the next trains.

  • I go to 30th Street Station all of the time, that sound is very old-fashioned and reassuring. The limestone that lines the stairwells is potmarked, know why?

  • the station is a landmark meaning nothing can be changed without extreme approval first.

  • Nice video! Here in Finland the last old-fashioned boards were changed to electronic in 2005.

  • I was told it's because that style of limestone is riddled with fossils that wear away much faster than limestone, most of the openings are small, though some are about as big as a dime.
