From the exhibition Sculpture in Motion at the Atlanta Botanical Garden on view through October 2008 and curated by Brigitte Micmacker from Sculpturesite Gallery. Curator's commentary: "The genius of Tim Prentice's work is to present numerous single elements that combine into complex, harmonious systems which he appears to control. Yet, just as soon as he offers this set of simple components, as a set of tools, to the wind, he relinquishes control to the unpredictable chaos with relish. The artist's intention from the onset now becomes clear: to seek pure movement as interpreted by air currents and the surrounding environment, and to embrace the surprising visual consequence. If Prentice's kinetic sculpture was compared to music, Yellow Zingers would be a delicious melody and Easel Windframe a serious tonal composition set within a whimsical framework."
