What is this a game or something.... I cant tell...I sound like an idiot if im wrong but it looks real.

@sillydoor New version is out guys, waitout a few days and we'll bring out a better version with better performance.

@wolffyau Yeah we were just familiarising ourselves with mia389's version that works with ACE2 this morning. We haven't had a chance to leave it running on our server for any length of time yet. The few excursions we've had deeper into enemy territory have certainly been action packed. Only thing I can think of to add is some fuel/repair trucks at the BAF FOB.

@wolffyau Yo wolffy, we are testing the MSO at the moment, I must say its very good - we are using an ACE version edited by a member on the aus forums. Works a charm but as to be expected there is a few problems, ill be sure to give you our feedback when we finish testing ;)
i love military simulators loved arma 1 and flashpoint CWC but when i got Arma 1 lets just say im not mod savy and i got kegettys mod launcher and the ACE mod pops up but its still wont load the game with the mod but any like the whole MSO concept if had Arma 2 would say ask to play with you guys but computer can only run Arma 1 on very low settings what are the specs i would need to run Arma 2 on the settings you are running?

@sharsh00ter969 This video was captured an Athlon II 620 @3.25 GHz, 4Gb DDR2 RAM, GTX460. Some of the newer videos are shot using my newer i5 2500K @ 4.2GHz , 8Gb RAM, GTX 460 system and are much smoother even with higher graphical settings (maxed on the latest vids).

Things to bear in mind is FRAPS redudes my fps by around 40% so watching the video doesn't really reflect in-game performance. I get don't drop below 50 fps now when FRAPS is not running (30 fps solid with).

@sharsh00ter969 ARMA 2 is very CPU dependent (for a game), Thats not to say a good GPU won't help matters. I could only run on very low setting back when I had a 9500GT GPU. Massive difference when I installed the GTX 460 (Still a bargain card can be picked up around £90 if you shop around).

For a good ARMA 2 experience, ideally you want a quad core processor as this is the maximum the software can use. Avoid any Hyperthreading or multithread CPU's as they don't work well with ARMA 2. My Athlon ran it fine with on medium settings (25-30 fps) but you can get faster chips for cheaper nowadays, The software can also only use up to 2Gb of your RAM. Depending on what OS you have and what other programs are running while you play, 4Gb should be ample.

Also worth noting that ARMA 2 makes large data transfers from the HDD when starting up. Sometimes had to wait 2-3 mins for a map to load. So getting a decent HDD is a wise investment.
The other thing to consider is that ARMA 3 will be out next summer... so maybe worth looking at the system specs for that before deciding on your build.
