  • It works like this:

    Two conducting "rails" (thus the name "rail gun") are parallel to each other while the object being propelled is placed between them. The two rails are then charged with opposite negative and positive electrical charges (similar to a parallel plate capacitor). When the electricity passes through the projectile it creates an electromagnetic force on the round; dependent on the direction of the "right hand rule", this force sends the projectile flying at very high speeds.

  • ok i´ll try...

    there 2 or more magnetic rails. and one projektile. which is metall i think and the rails are magnetic and it looks like this

    ________________________

    o- - - - - - -------->>>>>>>>

    ________________________

    the rails are magnetised throught electricitie and the projectile gets accelerated in forward direction and is pushed more and more faster but this hole thing happens in a fraction of a second. and less^^ i hope i helped you understand^^

  • @19Appa91 and when a shuttle leaves the earth its still in the atmospere so there is still air for it to catch on fire until it gets into space of course

  • @19Appa91 sigh i am gonna prove your wrong ok when a shuttle leaves the earth going too space they go around 2700 miles per hour if that object in this rail gun video is going that fast why dosent the shuttle catch on fire but this object dous and how in the fucking world would you know how fast it was going how the hell could you tell you cant tell so just go away and quit pissing people off.

  • @april76301 18000 mph faster than light? Please god, send some brain to earth...

    the projectile was about 2700 m/s fast... Light is kind of 230.000 km/s fast. Just a little bit faster...
