  • Hi Rudy,

I enjoyed watching your videos and admire your playing, Great quality stuff.

I just can't help myself wanting to ask you a question though:

If you have a Sampler and use all this modern technology, then why do you tend to hang on to the other keyboards around you? If you use a keyboard just for a strings sound, why not sample it?

I'm trying to build a similar piece of furniture with 2 master controllers and Modules (Favourite: Akai S6000)

    Good Luck, Keep it going!

    Hilvert (U.K.)

  • Thanks for your comment Hilvert. It would be impossible to use one or two Sampler keyboards to accomplish the diversity of sounds and layering, not to mention the polyphany issue running multiple samples on one or two keyboards. And another nice thing about my setup is each keyboard has its own special features. & personality.. The PA-80, the best strings, the Tyros, best rhythms and arranger.. Etc. The way I see it, The more, the merrier. Wish I had the room & money for more. Lol. Rudy.

  • I am so pleased to have found your clips on You Tube,long may they continue;

    John

  • Thanks John. I appreciate your comment. Rudy

  • Rudy, may I congratulate on your set-up, what an amazing system, I have to admit I considered my setup of five keyboards linked together by midi when playing out not so long ago was in itself pretty awesome but yours is truly incredible. I will most certainly be keeping a close eye on your postings from now on..You play fab as well.

    Kind regards

    Ronnie

  • Thanks Ronnie. Well, I can't keep my hands off my system. Since I did this video, I have changed most everything around. Much much better now for live performance. When I get a chance, I will do a new video of the upgraded system. Rudy.

  • Why dont you get into using software based samplers... they sound far superior to any hardware keyboard out there... the amount of memory alone that computer based samples can access is astronomical compared to any hardware synth... and the multi sampled sounds are huge and very realistic.

  • I REALLY enjoyed your demonstration. Some of it was a little over my head but happily some was not. Please don't ever stop playing because I don't want to ever stop listening.

  • I was fortunate enough, in the later '70s early 80's to have the honor of playing a couple of tunes on Rudy's hammond while at Trader Jacks. Indeed a great honor. Wally and Evy Wacker, Florida residents, and frequent visitors at Trader Jacks bought us to hear the fine playing of Rudy. Been following his releases ever since! This is a great video, and please keep the hits comming!

  • An absolute 'dream' setup of keyboards. Thanks for the tour.

  • Rudy you are amazing, a Great Unsung Hammond Hero to me !!!. Wish i could of seen seen you live back in the 70's. You came to Nine Mile Point in Webster, N.Y. which is very close to my hometown Rochester, N.Y.. Thanks again !!!!

  • DUDE!!!!! You have my ultimate dream system!!!!!

  • The Ultimate high tech Organ but you can also PLAY! Very few young people today have the attention span and focus to learn to play Organ.

    OGC5...

  • Hey Rudy, That would be my dream organ. I started out with a Yamaha FS-500 I have been a pop and classical organ and horse show organ all my life. Man what a great sound. I wish you would do a song called "Is it true what they say about Dixie"

Thanks man please keep up the awsome organ music!!!!

  • I want one !!!!!

  • What a great set up, Rudy! It's so well thought out and of course a great tour of your system. You are very right, there is no replacement for the real thing: a Hammond B-3.

I'm hoping to buy some vinyl LP's you've recorded. By the way, back in about 1978 I used to cross the Golden Gate Bridge into SF on Wednesday nights to hear the legendary Walter Wanderley play at Le Montemare club. No cover charge. I believe that was the last venue he played at in his final days. Rest in peace.
