Take a virtual tour of the Quirang, a hill walkers & climbers paradise on the Hebridean Island of Skye.
Difficult to do true justice in a video to the sheer breathtaking beauty of this Island, but see what you think as you walk amongst the volcanic pinnacles, rock faces, and grassy tables and hills of this area. Situated at the northern end of the Trotternish Ridge, the largest landslip in Europe, the Quirang offers a wide range of climbs & walks. From the easy to the extremely difficult amidst the most exhilerating seascape & landscape scenery. Oh and let me know what YOU think. Hugh the Railmon.

  • Hello! Do you stay on skye?

  • @freshest999 I have only returned from Skye in the last couple of days. The second visit in a month.

I have a caravanette, so spend as much time as possible there. Mainly to hang-glide.

  • Since posting this video, I have visited the Quirang a couple of times and a week ago, flew a hang glider over a thousand feet above the pinnacles with 2 buzzards for company. They weren't in the least aggresive and played with me a a few metres from my wing, for over 20 minutes. Overcome with emotion, I cried.

    Hugh, The Railmon.

  • I have literally watched this video about 50 times in the past couple of days. I love it so so much. The isle of Skye is one of the most beautiful places of the planet in my opinion. Also, can you PLEASE reply and tell me the name of that bagpipe piece playing throughout the first half of the video. It's one of the most beautiful pieces I've heard.

  • @mcchuff I though my viewing figures had shot up ! LoL.

Much of Scotland is an area of outstanding natural beauty but Skye is something else. The volcanic pinnacles on the Trotternish ridge absolutely blow your mind, well mine anyway. I see from your channel, you have discovered Davy Spillane's fantastic music.

I'm glad you've enjoyed my video, Its my pleasure. There are several others featuring areas of Scotland you might like to try on my channel

    Regards, Hugh.

  • loved your video hugh. we walked the quirang june 2009. it brought back such wonderful memories and i loved the runrig soundtrack. we went to see them in sheffield before christmas.

  • Ghand67, You would'nt be the Yorkshire couple I spoke to on the top of the Quirang in June 09 would you? If so you mentioned you had been visiting Skye for 10 years and it was the first time you'd climbed the Quirang in sunshine. You know its strange how Runrig are huge in Scotland and even bigger on the continent, yet relatively unkown south of the border.

    Regards, Hugh.

  • Aw, what a lovely video, was feeling a bit homesick, and this made my day! You can see my house from there! :) Love this walk, used to go up there all the time, lots of lovely memories. Thank you. :)

  • Well done. It's better than a lot of the vid's I've found on YouTube on Scottish countryside.

  • Great video. Thanks for posting it!

  • Beautiful video. Thank you for sharing.

  • Fantastic video. Visited Skye for the first time this year and was amazed. Weather wasn't great when I went up the Quiraing but the view was still special. Judging from your video it's even better on a clear day! Hope to return soon. Nice to see a fellow ITFC fan in the comments as well :-)

  • @RailMon Amazing experience! Thanks for beautiful video!

  • Excellent video, My mum and dad love Skye. We've been to most of the Hebrides, Harris, Islay, Lewis, Mull, Uist, etc and St Kilda if you know the island. Haven't been to Barra, Coll and Tiree which is where I'm visiting this year! Anyway, We've walked around the Quirang, heard a Cuckoo whilst there! (Will always remember that!) as it echoed! It is an amazing place. Excellent choice of music, I'm a bagpipe player and like this sorta stuff! 5* and fav'd
