A key reason for high suicide rates among gay folk may well be just the sort of misguided fear and disapproval evinced by the likes of Dr. Sexton and the Taliban. Theirs is a highly selective, personal reading of scriptures from the Abrahamic ideology. I hope that the Holy Spirit offsets their narrow, deadly, often felonious misinterpretation of the "letter that killeth".

Leviticus refers to the priestly code of the Temple, and that condemns same gender sex as falling short of the requisite. That code of holiness applies to many areas besides sexual relations, and celibate gay priests are still holy and fine.
There's nothing decent about stigmatizing gays, Dr. Sexton. It leads to fear and hatred of part of God's rich creation, which includes the gay sons and daughters of many parents.
