So much for the prison.

The Missouri State Prison was built in the 1830s, was decommissioned recently, and is now being leveled. Some of the historic buildings are being preserved.

They opened it to people for two days a few years back. I don't know what they'll do in the future.

This is the demolition to make way for the new federal Courthouse which will be built here. However, the 40 acres of historic buildings is being preserved and plans for renovation. They are starting tours there again, but I believe are booked out some 2 months ahead of time! A group of freinds and I have a tour booked!

was this called the "bloody 40 acres"?what was it like being a corrections officer there?Im not proud of it, but I hade 2 brothers there .One is out now living a productive life the other will never get out he is over at the new prison.

i worked at the walls in 2000 this place should have been keep for money think of all money jeff could have brought in its the bloodiest 40 acres west of mississippi river i am a corrections officer and this was a real prison
